The Gestures of Engagement Mural (GEM) is a three-canvas modular mural painting 15’x4’. Commissioned to honor the vastness and spiritual depth that spans native Pacific Islanders’ creation outlook. This revered belief is embedded throughout the oceanic and astronomical celestial knowledge of the Hawai’ian culture. The name Hawai’i indicates, ‘a place that exists due to pure tone vibration’. Such a profound signature is richly and warmly expressed in Hawai’ian sacred chants, arts, ancestral stories and exceptional navigational skills.
